Guess the hidden word before you run out of tries. After each guess, tiles change color: green means the letter is correct and in the right position, yellow means the letter is in the word but in the wrong spot, and gray means the letter isn't in the word at all.
Infinite — Play as many puzzles as you want with any configuration. Daily — One puzzle per day per configuration. Everyone gets the same word, so you can compare with friends. Co-op — Create a room, share the code with a friend, and take turns guessing from your own devices.
You can play 1, 2, 4, 6, or 8 grids at once. Each guess applies to all grids simultaneously. You get extra guesses for more grids: 1 grid = 6 guesses (Normal), 2 = 7, 4 = 9, 6 = 11, 8 = 13. Easy mode adds +2 to all counts. Win by solving all grids before running out of guesses.
Easy — 8 guesses, all color hints shown. Normal — 6 guesses, classic rules. Hard — Must use revealed hints in subsequent guesses. Extreme — No yellow hints shown, and you must use revealed info.
You get 3 free hints per day. A hint reveals one letter's position in the target word. Once your hints are used, you can watch a short ad to earn 3 more. If you've purchased Remove Ads, you get hints instantly with no ad. Hints reset daily.
The Remove Ads purchase permanently removes all interstitial ads and gives you unlimited hints on demand without watching ads. It's a one-time purchase that stays with your Apple ID forever.
Del is your AI companion. During a game, tap the 🤖 bar to expand Del's panel. Del shows how many words are still possible across all your grids and gives strategic advice. You can use a hint to unlock Del's top word recommendation. Check "Del's Report" from the home screen for a personalized scouting report on your play style, strengths, and areas to improve.
One player creates a room and gets a 6-character code. Share the code with a friend via the share button. Both players see the same board on their own devices and alternate guesses. You don't need to be online at the same time — play at your own pace and come back when it's your turn. Your active games are listed in the Co-op screen.
Word-L tracks 27 achievements across categories like win streaks, difficulty mastery, multi-grid solving, and more. View your progress in the Achievements screen accessible from Stats. If you're signed into Game Center, achievements also sync there.
Go to the Store inside the app and tap "Restore Purchases." This will restore any previous purchases tied to your Apple ID. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.
Game progress, stats, and preferences are saved locally on your device. If you uninstall and reinstall the app, this data cannot be recovered. Game Center achievements and leaderboard scores are saved to your Apple account and will sync automatically.
Game Center connects automatically when you reach the home screen, as long as Game Center is enabled on your device. Go to iPhone/iPad Settings > Game Center and make sure it's turned on and you're signed in with your Apple ID.
